Peter Krapf was born in Oxford and was educated in the UK and Germany. He teaches citizenship and history at the Schubart-Gymnasium in Ulm, Germany, and trains teachers in citizenship education at the training college in Weingarten, Germany. Since 1996, he has been engaged in EDC/HRE teacher training projects, mainly in South Eastern Europe. He is co-editor of the series Living in Democracy.

Mr Ioffe is Vice-president of the Association “For Civic Education” and an expert in Russian National Teacher Competition. He has a PhD and is Professor and Head of Department of School Education at the Moscow Education Development Institute. He is also a professor at the Russian Teacher Training Academy and has been a CoE Expert since 1996. Mr Ioffe has been a trainer at the Summer Academy “Democracy at School” in Poland since 2010.He is the author of social studies text-books and manuals for teachers.

Kidalova is Headmaster of the Methodology Department of the City Council in Melitopol, Ukraine, and a teacher of Ukrainian at Specialized school No23. She is a graduate of the Melitopol State Pedagogical Institute where she studied Ukrainian language and literature at the Department of English language and foreign literature. Kidalova coordinates the process of establishing and implementing projects and workshops on the topic of active citizenship, development of social competence and EDC/HRE competence and intercultural education. Ms. Kidlova participated at the Regional Summer Academy “Democracy at School” in Poland, 2012 and was co-trainer at the 2015 School for Democracy in Ukraine.

Prof. Dr. h.c. Rolf Gollob  is responsible for the acquisition and realisation of projects in the field of Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education at the Center IPE . Since 2008 Rolf Gollob is the Swiss National Coordinator for Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights for the Council of Europe. For his 20 years engagement for teacher training and Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights he received in December 2013 doctor honoris causa from "St Kliment Ohridski" University, Bitola – Macedonia. 

EWC involvement: The Kosovo Academy, School for Democracy (2015), Promoting Civic Education in the Russian Federal Regions (2015).

Edward Huddleston is a consultant in civic and citizenship education, and an Associate of the Citizenship Foundation in London. Mr Huddleston has worked in education in a number of different capacities - as classroom teacher, teacher educator, researcher, and writer. He has published articles in educational journals as well as practical teaching materials for use in schools. He also has experience of professional training and consultancy in citizenship and human rights education in a range of countries in Europe and the Middle East. He has been a trainer in the three South-East Europe Summer Academies “Human rights in Action” held in Montenegro, and is currently working on a European development project on the teaching of controversial issues in schools.

Mr. Krrikyan is a Civil Society and Education Program Coordinator of Jinishian Memorial Foundation (JMF). His primary tasks include research, development, implementation, and management of the projects related to civil society/ education sector. He is actively involved as a trainer/ facilitator in EDC/HRE projects of JMF in schools and universities. He is a founder and a Board Member of Avedissian “Green” private school in Yerevan. Mr. Krrikyan, as a country coordinator and HRE training facilitator/ trainer was involved in EQUITAS’ (international human rights training organization, Canada) HRE regional program in Ukraine.

Marzena Rafalska is an educational consultant at the In-Service Training Centre in Lomza, Poland. She is a specialist in civil and European education, a human rights trainer at the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, an EDC/HRE trainer at the Council of Europe, an HRE OSCE expert in Tajikistan, as well as an educator and a coach. She is a regular co-worker of the Centre for Education Development (ORE), Ministry of Education and Office of Children Rights Ombudsman. Rafalska is an author and a coordinator in many regional, national and international educational and social projects. Rafalska is a trainer for the Summer Academy in Poland since 2012.

Robert Jackson has expertise in the broad field of religions and education. He was Director of Warwick Religions and Education Research Unit (1994-2012) and is Emeritus Professor of Religions and Education at the University of Warwick, UK, and Visiting Professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences Education at Stockholm University, Sweden. He has been involved since 2002 in the Council of Europe’s work on the place of religions and non-religious convictions in intercultural education, and was Special Adviser to the European Wergeland Centre 2009-2014, holding a Visiting Professorship at Oslo University College. He contributed to the European Commission-funded REDCo project and directed the ‘Young People’s Attitudes to Religious Diversity’ project in the Religion and Society Programme in the UK, on which he served as a member of the Steering Committee. He was Editor of the British Journal of Religious Education (1996-2011). In 2013 he received the William Rainey Harper Award from the Religious Education Association of the USA and Canada, presented to 'outstanding leaders whose work in other fields has had a profound impact upon religious education'. He was Vice-Chair of the joint Council of Europe/EWC committee focusing on the implementation of the 2008 Recommendation on teaching about religions and non-religious convictions. His publications include 26 books, including Signposts: Policy and Practice for Teaching about Religions and Non-Religious Worldviews in Intercultural Education (Strasbourg: Council of Europe Publishing, 2014) written on behalf of the joint CoE/EWC committee, and promoted in the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers’ Action Plan of May 2015. Signposts provides ideas for policy makers, schools and teacher educators across Europe, for implementing the 2008 Council of Europe Recommendation

Veton Sylhasi is working as a program officer in a program for teacher professional development. He has been involved in various programs for professional development of teachers, school heads and other education stakeholders both at national and international level. His main area of expertise is EDC/HRE, development planning, education policies and research. He is also a human rights educator with young people and children and is a Director of Kosovar Association for Human and Children's Rights (KAHCR).

Larisa Vasileva is a History and Civic Education teacher at Foreign Language High. Since 1998 she has also been a trainer at the Open Education Center in Sofia, Bulgaria. Since 2002 she has led a program on training teachers in Civic Education, Human Rights, Global Education and Interactive Methodic training. Vasileva is a member of the Board of Managers of The Youth Educational Center in Pleven. She has been a trainer at the Summer Academy "Democracy at School" in Poland since 2012, and head trainer in 2014 and 2015.

Filip Car works as an English teacher at the 3rd Primary School Čakovec in Croatia. He participated at the South East Europe Regional Summer Academy, "Human Rights in Action” in Montenegro, 2013. He was also a member of the Croatian team in the Council of Europe pilot project Travel pass to democracy: supporting teachers for active citizenship. He is currently working on a project on peaceful conflict resolution together with partners from Slovenia. He has led several workshops on EDC/HRE cross-curricular implementation for English teachers and will be a co-trainer at the 2015 South East Europe Regional Summer Academy

Andriy Donets now works as project manager at NGO Ednannia in Kyiv, Ukraine. He carries out educational activities with children and young people for 15 years using and promoting non-formal learning approach. Since 2007 Andriy cooperates as a trainer with the EUs SALTO Resource Centres and since 2011 he is a member of the trainers pool of the Youth Department of the Derectorate of Democratic Citizenship and Participation of the Council of Europe.

Olena Styslavska is a teacher trainer and educational consultant in the field of Democratic Citizenship, Human Rights and Intercultural Education. She has developed, coordinated and implemented national and international training programmes for the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Poland, Polish Centre of Education Development, Community of Democracies, OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and the Council of Europe. She has been a trainer in the Regional Summer Academy Programme since it was launched in 2010, being a head trainer for three editions in Poland and all editions in Montenegro. Her main strength is a practical EDC/HRE experience which she built during her 10 years of teaching at school. She is sure that education can change the world.
