Michalis is a senior lecturer, researcher and teacher trainer at Leeds Beckett University (UK). His research interests span in the areas of citizenship, Human rights and inclusive education with a particular focus on the school capacity to accommodate democratic pedagogies and inclusive practices.

Michalis has designed and led teacher training and postgraduate courses on Citizenship and Inclusive education and has held research fellowships at the Centre for Citizenship and Human Rights Education (CCHRE), University of Leeds and at the Centre for Research in Inclusion and Diversity (CREID) University of Edinburgh.

In his current research Michalis is studying the inclusion of refugee students into formal education and the use of dialogue in the classroom, particularly for the exploration of controversial issues.

Marzena Rafalska

Marzena Rafalska is an educational consultant at the In-Service Training Centre in Lomza, Poland. She is a specialist in civil and European education, a human rights trainer at the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, an EDC/HRE trainer at the Council of Europe, an HRE OSCE expert in Tajikistan, as well as an educator and a coach. She is a regular co-worker of the Centre for Education Development (ORE), Ministry of Education and Office of Children Rights Ombudsman. Rafalska is an author and a coordinator in many regional, national and international educational and social projects. Rafalska is a trainer for the Summer Academy in Poland since 2012.
