The delegation was welcomed and accompanied by the EWC Programme Coordinator in Ukraine, Khrystyna Chushak, who presented recent achievements and future activities within Schools for Democracy.
Mr Audun Halvorsen underlined that support to educational reforms in Ukraine remains one of the priorities of Norway’s activities in Ukraine.
Director General of the Directorate for pre-school and school education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Mr Andriy Osmolovskyy highlighted the importance of cooperation with The European Wergeland Centre and its contribution to educational reforms in Ukraine.
School principal Andriy Melnyk mentioned that the decision to take part in the Programme was made in a democratic way, since it was initiated by the community and parents of school children and the leading role is played mainly by teachers, parents and students themselves.
Programme trainer Tetiana Meleshchenko pointed out that even though the school joined the Programme only recently, it has already achieved a lot, particularly now it has more effective cooperation with the local community.
